Americanization and Asianization
Much has been written about the impact of Westernization or Americanization on other countries. A more recent phenomenon is the so-called Asianization of America—the spread of Asian culture to the west.
A young woman from Brazil writes on this two topic in East Meets West? Or, West Meets East in TOPICS Online Magazine.

I think it is progress that we accept coexistence. There is not the Westerner’s unconditional contempt, and there is not the Asian’s unconditional worship. We are finding the mutual merits in order to coexist.

We can see the Asianization of America in restaurants. Nowdays, there are many Asian restaurants in America, so many Americans can eat Asian foods easily. Some Americans and people from other western countries really like Asian food such as Kimchi, Sushi, and Chinese foods. I think this is Asianization.

'West meets east? or East meets West?' This question is like the question, 'an egg first? or a chicken first?' We cannot determinate which is correct. However, we should accept this situation. It is very natural phenomenon. Not only Asians move into the United States, but also Americans move to other Asian counties. That't why the world is being globalized.

Adopting globalization is natual thing even the object is America. We have to think about why we accept the situation. We use new words because we don't have them. Most people adopt the to situation if it is new and a good thing for them. That's why many American are interested in Asia. It wouldn't hurt you, but help you more.

Lately, the west to east is mixed by global culture. For example, Chinese medicine and Western medicine, each other, has aided.
Also, to well-being, Tae- kwondo in Korea is famous in America. Thus, In Western, they has accepted to a good point of Asian culture.

I think Asianization is very natural and desireable. Amercanization has been very popular until now but Asian culture was not popular inAmerca of western countries. I think western people should know Asian culturea because nowadays, we call this world a "global world". We can't avoid exchange between West and East.

I think Some of American students are interested in Asian especcially Japan. There are many products like car, tv, audio in America. However, above all, movie and cartoon influence them. American child enjoy watching Asian caroons specially Japan's cartoon. They may well be interesting Asian culture. In my opinion, it is right wests meets east. Becaues west people accept Asian culture under the interest.

I am sure that the real good thing can survive forever. The recent revenge of Asianization to Americanization proved that.We should protect only the tradition which could not survive. As a result,it will be only museum.
