Influence of the English language
People around the world are borrowing English words, too. Here's a photo of a coffee shop in Germany covered with signs written in English. Traveling around the globe, you often see English words on buildings, find them "sprinkled" in magazine or newspaper advertisements, or hear them being used by people as they converse in other languages.
For years people have been talking about the influence of the English language on the languages of the rest of the world. Some people find it fashionable, but not everyone is happy about this phenomena. Read what people from Germany, Japan, Brazil, Venezuela, Ukraine, Armenia, Yugoslavia, and Singapore have to say about the influence of English on their own languages in What's Happening to Our Languages.
Do you think the influence of the English language on other languages will last long? Why or why not? Post a comment.
I think English is a product of imperialism. Of course, nowadays, we cannot see things like the past invasion of another country. However, we live in another invasion. That is just an economic invasion. Actually, America and England have a great influence around the world and their power is not going to diminish easily. I think it will be maintained for a long time.

If I go to another country, I can see many English speakers there. English is important in Korea. When we enter a university graduate school or company, they check our English ability. Also there are many English words on the signboards and advertisement billboards mixed with the the Korean words. It is a kind of Englishization. I think most people will use English more than now.

In my country, you can see English everywhere. I don't like it because my country's people spend to much improperly English. In my opinion, using English is very good, but we should use it right way.

I'm sure that English will get more and more popular because of necessity of English at the international communication. English is the only language to communicate international. Now that the thick wall between nations are getting rid of the man who cannot speak English has a fatal injury especially in the business site. Therefore English will keep influencing on the other language in the future.

English has been a representative language for a long time. Even a person who wants to succeed has to learn English. And personally, I think it's not going to change for a while.
