Children around the world love toys
Children around the world have always played with toys, but over the years the types of toys they enjoy playing with have changed. More modern high-tech toys such as cars with remote controls, lego technical sets, or robots, have replaced traditional toys such as yo-yos, spinning tops, building blocks, paper dolls, and marbles.
Read what a woman from Venezuela has to say about children's toys in Venezuela: Traditional Toys vs. High-Tech Toys. Then take a look at a 2002 BBC Online article about the popularity of robot toys in that year: Robot toys are tops.
Post a comment. Write about a toy you had when you were a child. What kind of toy was it? Why did you like to play with it. Do you still have it today?
I had played 'Gong-Gi' with my friends in elementary school. This is a game which has five-steps and five devices like little stones. We just throw them up and catch them. If possible, I would like to play that game here. It would be the best way to remember my past.

When I was a child, I usually played with paper dolls at home. I bought many paper dolls, and sometimes I made paper dolls with my sister. Also, we made some stories that matched the paper dolls.
Now I don't have those paper dolls because paper dolls become old easily, but I still have one toy. It is a real doll made of wood. The toy has five small dolls in her body. Each one of the dolls I take out of her body is a different size. This doll is one of my treasures.

When I was a child, I enjoyed making some plastic models of robots of a TV animation program. Indeed at that time, these toys were very popular among children in Japan. Actually it was very interesting to make plastic models with special devices in order to make them as real as possible. That experience seemed to give me various skills and ideas to make things.

Jagichagi is one of the most popular traditional games in Korea. A Jagi is made of a little stone with feathers. It is really easy to play this game. Just hit the stone part of the Jagi into air and make sure it does not fall to the ground. Count how many hits you have and the person who gets the largest number wins the game. I'm not good at it, but I enjoy it.

I liked dolls such as the 'Bobby' doll, which is a very beautiful kind of doll. When I played with the doll, I personified the doll. Also, I bought a doll house. The doll was kind of human for me and my good friend. The house was my other world.

I remember in my childhood. I loved to play with spinning tops, but it was not just a game. It was kind of a battle of spinning tops. I tried to destroy other spinning tops. Whenever my spinning top was broken by a friend of mine, I always bought a new one. Actually, I had many but I lost them long time ago. I miss playing with them a lot.

When I was child, I had a car with a remote control. It was very fast, and I could feel like I was driving a real car. I liked it. I could race with my friends, and cut down on my stress. However, unfortunately, I don't have it anymore. It got broken, so I had to throw it away. I felt sad to lose it. Although I am an adult, I would like to buy another one like it.

I'd always played a spinning top with my friends every day. I don't know why I enjoyed it, but I can guess that the playing a spinning top is only for men. I have never seen that girls play it. I kept it until I was the 7th grade, but I lost it when I moved my house.
